The Body in the Houses of the Birth Chart

First House - Cardinal Fire - corresponds to the head, face and upper jaw. With Saturn, Aries rules the skull; with the Moon, the upper brain (cerebrum); with Pluto, the sinuses. Corresponds to the alta major head centre, which manifests as the carotid gland. Corresponds to the spiritual (or mental)* body.

Second House - Fixed Earth - corresponds to the throat, neck, mouth, adenoids, lower brain (cerebellum), the lower jaw, pharynx, salivary glands and vocal cords. With Mercury, Taurus rules the larynx, the tongue and the thyroid gland; with Pluto, the tonsils. Corresponds to the throat chakra, vishuddha, which manifests as the thyroid gland. Corresponds to the emotional (or astral) body.

Third House - Mutable Air - corresponds to the arms, shoulders, respiration and respiratory apparatus, the bronchi, the diaphragm, the fingers, hands, nerve fibres and nervous system, sight, smell, the upper ribs, trachea, thoracic cavity and the thymus gland. With Mars, Libra rules the adrenal glands, which are the manifestation of the root chakra, muladhara. Corresponds to the intellectual (or lower mental) body.

Eighth House - Fixed Water - corresponds to organs and channels of elimination, the large intestine, rectum, gonads, appendix, prostate gland, pelvic area and rectum. With Mars, the male sex organs; with Venus, the female. The gonads are the manifestation of the sacral chakra, svadhisthana. Corresponds to the etheric body.

Ninth House - Mutable Fire - corresponds to the liver, upper legs, hips, thighs, sciatic nerve, buttocks, arterial blood system, the blood and bile. Corresponds to the spiritual (or mental) body.
