The Configuration of planets in the sign Taurus

Understandably there is a lot of interest in the effects upon our planet of the line-up of seven other planets in Taurus which takes place this month. In the space of a little over 24 hours between 3rd - 4th May (GMT), the transiting Moon will be in conjunction with (in order): Venus, Mercury, Vulcan, the Sun, Jupiter and Saturn, all of which are involved in a loose stellium. At the end of the month, on 28th May (GMT) Jupiter will make an exact conjunction with Saturn.

Speculation, of course, is rife and the fact is that none of us can know all the implications of this tremendous configuration. It has implications for our planet on many levels, just as it has implications for the human family collectively, for our national groupings both geographical and political, and for each of us individually. It is ever this way with a planetary configuration and it is usually the case that astrology proves itself to be wisest about them after the event!

What is notable about this configuration is that it involves no outer planets directly
(see Endnote 1) but rather the inner and the superior planets. This means that it will be able to impress itself far more readily upon the consciousness of each of us individually than did, say, the line-up of Saturn, Neptune and Uranus in Capricorn in 1990.

Rather than simply add to speculation, we thought we would supply certain details about the sign Taurus, to assist people in their own deductions.

At the cosmic and systemic levels:

N.B. When talking about the distribution of force in the Universe talk about constellations; when considering the effects of the zodiacal constellation upon planetary consciousness talk about signs.

The Taurean stars are viewed as the central group of our galaxy. The Pleiades are the central group of the Bull and esoteric tradition upholds Alcyone as the star around which our Universe revolves, although this claim may be considered to be a part of the truth rather than the whole truth.
According to The Secret Doctrine, ‘All the Sun-Gods...have been mystically connected with the constellation Taurus and were called the First.’
The sign Taurus, together with Scorpio, is involved in transmitting magnetic energy into our system from the six solar systems which are companions to our own. Their agent from the planetary world is Mars which rules the astral component of man.
Taurus is one of seven signs directly involved with the unfoldment of consciousness on planet Earth.
Taurus, with Scorpio and Pisces, is one the so called ‘cosmic decanates’ - three signs which rule the other nine. Taurus is the sign of the Buddha and confers illumination. These three signs form what esoteric tradition describes as the Triangle of Initiations.
Taurus, this time with the signs Leo and Aquarius, creates another triangle, known as the Triangle of Humanity.
Taurus is one of the four arms of the Fixed Cross, the cross upon which the world disciple is now crucified. Known also as the Cross of God and the Cross of the Soul, it is the cross upon which a man proves his commitment and refines and controls his emotions, raising energy from the solar plexus to the heart centre.
Taurus is one of five signs considered to be particularly influential in the life of the advanced disciple.
Taurus, together with Scorpio, transmits the Fourth Ray (Harmony Through Conflict) into our system.
The Creative Hierarchy ruled by the sign Taurus is out of manifestation but active on the Cosmic Astral plane and influencing the four lowest planes of our system where we ourselves, as spiritual beings, as souls and as personalities have our place. The energy of this Creative Hierarchy which is on the Vth Ray is known as ‘Light through Knowledge.’
The planetary rulers of Taurus are Venus (orthodox) and Vulcan (esoteric). These planets distribute to humanity the Fifth and First Rays respectively. Venus rules the human personality (the Vth Creative Hierarchy) and Vulcan rules the mineral kingdom.

To gain an idea of the effects of the configuration at an individual level.

Ascertain in which house of the natal chart the configuration falls. Its midpoint is 8 degrees Taurus and the New Moon is on 14 degrees Taurus.
Establish in which houses 1) the deposited planet Venus and 2) the deposited esoteric ruler Vulcan are located (assume Vulcan to be within a few degrees of Mercury
(see Endnote 3). These houses will be linked in with the house in which the configuration occurs.
Consider the houses ruled accidentally by Mercury, Venus, Sun, Jupiter and Saturn. They will all be conjoined by the developments originating from the house ruled (accidentally) by the Moon.
Repeat this exercise for the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn which occurs in 22 degrees Taurus and which, depending upon the house system used, may fall in a different house.

The conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn 28th May 2000

This takes place in the 23rd degree of the sign Taurus (i.e. 22 degrees Taurus) just 18 arc minutes away from Taurus’s renowned 24th degree (i.e. 23 degrees Taurus), the degree which revealed to the three Magi that God had taken human shape. The symbol of which according to the American clairvoyant Adriano Carelli is:

The Moon in its first Quarter. The thin bright, crescent, encompassing the planet’s lower rim, seems to hold the dimly looming orb as an earthly offering to heaven.
(see Endnote 2)

On 1st June (GMT), the Moon in its last quarter will re-establish the link between Jupiter and Saturn, the midpoint of which will be the centre of the 24th degree.

This is our summary:

For what we will lose on the material and emotional level we will receive more than adequate compensation, and it may be because our materialistic values and the world they have supported are under attack from nature, we will more readily recognise and respond to our Compensation.

But we will let D.K. have the last word:

Vulcan controls the anvil-like processes of time and strikes the blow which shapes the metal into that which is desired, and this is as true today as never before. He it is who is forging the way for the coming Avatar who will -at the right moment- come forth, embodying in Himself the Will of God .... (see Endnote 4)

Endnotes:

1. Uranus & Neptune (S.) are square to this configuration at 6 degrees & 20 degrees Aquarius, respectively. Pluto (R.) is quincunx at 12 degrees Sagittarius.
